4-Weeks Handbuilding Course

£180.00

🕒 4 Thursdays| 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM | Max 4 Students

(29 Oct & 5, 12, 19 Nov)

A relaxed course dedicated entirely to handbuilding - crafting ceramics using only your hands and simple tools, with no pottery wheel involved. Perfect for complete beginners or anyone wanting to build functional, organic tableware at a calm, steady pace.

With only 4 people in the studio, you receive personal guidance through every step.

What we will do over 4 weeks

  • Week 1 (Pinch Method): Clay basics and crafting your first functional bowls or mugs.

  • Week 2 (Coil Building): Creating taller forms, vases, or organic shapes using coils and adding surface textures.

  • Week 3 (Slab Building): Working with rolled slabs of clay to build structured pieces like trays, planters, or boxes.

  • Week 4 (Glazing & Drinks): Applying food-safe glazes to your pieces. We finish our final evening together with tea, coffee, and prosecco.

What is included

  • 4 sessions (2 hours each).

  • All clay, tools, glazes, and 2 kiln firings.

  • Up to 5 finished, dishwasher- and microwave-safe pieces to take home.

  • Tea, coffee, biscuits, and a glass of prosecco on the final week.

Booking and policies

  • Minimum group: We need at least 2 students to run the course. If we don't reach this 7 days before the start date, you will get a full refund or can move to the next cohort.

  • Missed classes: If you miss an evening, the tutor will help you catch up at your next session. Whenever possible, we may offer a spot in another group to make up the time.
