Jul 6-Week Wheel Course
A Quiet Space for Growth
There is a rhythm to the wheel that demands your full attention. It asks you to let go of the day’s noise and focus entirely on the movement of clay between your hands.
We keep our wheel courses intentionally small - limited to just two people. This isn't a crowded workshop. It is an almost private experience. By keeping the group this intimate, we can offer you the kind of focused, one-on-one guidance that turns frustration into genuine progress. You aren't just one of many; you are part of a quiet, intentional practice.
Why this course?
We believe that learning a craft shouldn't be rushed. Over six weeks, we create a consistent space for you to return to. You will see your hands get steadier, your understanding of the clay deepen, and your confidence grow.
Truly Small Group: Only two students per course. This allows for deep, personalized support from your tutor, ensuring you never feel stuck or overlooked.
Progressive Learning: We don't just "make a pot." We build skills week by week, moving from centering to controlled shaping, refining your technique until you have a functional set of pieces to take home.
A Consistent Rhythm: Once a week, you have a place in Shepton Mallet that is waiting for you. It’s a moment of calm, a chance to slow down, and a way to belong to a small, creative community.
The Details
Duration: 6 weeks (8, 15, 22, 29 Jul & 5, 12 Aug)
Time: Wednesday evenings, 6:00–8:00 pm.
Experience: No previous experience needed. We welcome everyone who is ready to slow down and learn.
The Investment: £280 (covers all materials, clay, tools, glazing, and kiln firings).
Included: Everything you need, plus tea, biscuits, and the quiet satisfaction of seeing your own work take shape.
What to Expect
Each week, you’ll arrive to find the studio ready for you. We’ll pick up exactly where we left off.
We focus on the process, not the speed. You will learn to center the clay, control its walls, and eventually, finish your own set of functional pieces. By the final session, you’ll be glazing the work you’ve nurtured through the fire.
Are you ready to create a little space for yourself? Spaces are limited to two per course. If you’re interested in joining us, we recommend booking early.
